The Experience

Have you ever fancied driving a Steam Train? This fantastic introductory Steam Train driving day based in Kent gives you this unique opportunity. You'll learn the basic skills needed to drive a steam locomotive, and, as the day goes on, you'll develop your skills and get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to 'buffer up' the engine to a 20-ton brake van.

You'll start the day off at around 9:00 am at Rolvenden Station in Kent where your morning will consist of a breakfast bap and cup of tea along with a short safety briefing and then it's straight on to the hands-on part of your Steam Train driving day! Guidance will be given to each participant by a knowledgeable instructor to ensure your confidence builds throughout the day.

After lunch, which is included in the price of your voucher, and then it's back to the fun of driving a steam train locomotive. You will also get a visit to the Signal Box and a tour of the locomotive yard and repair shed. At the end of the day, you'll receive a certificate of achievement along with a souvenir tee shirt and mug!

Vital Information

You must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. You should be able to jump from height to the ground without assistance so it is essential that you have the ability and fitness level to do this. You should be aged 18 and over.
