The Experience
You are set to enjoy the "Sport of Kings" as a Racehorse owner, joining the ranks of Arab Sheikhs and The Queen.
You'll receive your exclusive Owners Badge for entry to the Owners & Trainers bar and entrance to the prestigious Parade Ring to meet the Jockey and Trainer before your horse races.
We can promise the adrenaline will be racing as fast around your body as your horse will be around the course. With a bit of luck you will end up in the winners. As an owner of the horse, it is only fair you should walk away with a percentage of any prize money won, the Racehorse Ownership Manager will advise.

Your Approximate Itinerary
- 14:00 Arrive at Racecourse Park in the Owners/Trainers Car Park
- Pick up your exclusive Owners badge at the Owners entrance
- Make your way to the Owners & Trainers bar
- When its time for your horse to race head into the Parade Ring, meet the jockey and go through the final race tactics
- The rest is down to the Horse and jockey - good luck!

Vital Information
Guests with entrance into special enclosures are often required to dress smartly. Gentlemen are particularly advised to wear a jacket and tie.

Meet Your Racehorse
Being a racehorse owner requires a certain amount of flexibility. You will be advised of the forthcoming planned races for your horse and the declaration process confirming your horse to run. Your horse may run anywhere in the UK, however it is likely to be at a Racecourse between the Midlands and the South Coast.
From the provisional race plan that Racehorse Ownership Manager will provide, an entry will be made 5 days prior to the race date, followed by a declaration 24 hours before the horse is due to run. Between these dates the following may effect whether the horse actually runs; Ground going eg to firm, out of the handicap e.g. to high/low a weight to carry; jockey change or injury to the horse. At the declaration stage your horse may be balloted out if the race has too many horses entered to run.
If a race is abandoned or the horse is not declared to run, we will arrange another meeting.

A day at the Races as an Owner – most afternoon meetings start from either 14:00 – 18:00 or evening meetings from 17:00 – 21:00.

What to Bring and Dress Code

Fascinating Facts

Most of us are hard pressed to trace our family tree beyond our great grandparents, so it's astonishing to realise the direct bloodline of a thoroughbred horse can be followed back through tens of generations.

There are over 5,000 Thoroughbred foals born in Great Britain every year, and over 110,000 born worldwide. Each one can trace their ancestry back through the father’s line to one of three horses - the Godolphin Arabian, the Byerley Turk or the Darley Arabian.

When did it all start?

It is impossible to say exactly when the Thoroughbred developed but in the late 17th and early 18th centuries British breeders began crossing their native mares with imported stallions from North Africa and the Middle East. Those which were mated with the Godolphin Arabian, Byerley Turk or the Darley Arabian ultimately produced the modern Thoroughbred.
