The Experience
Each boat is expertly guided by a professional instructor who is familiar with the river and it's obstacles. On your journey you will be encouraged to work together as a team to bump and glide your way along the rivers natural course, whilst enjoying all the wild and wacky rapids for which the Scottish rivers are famous.
Due to the high level of expertise and experience that our guides have - we are able to swap venue depending on river levels and conditions. At certain times of the year, different rivers present different rafting challenges. The rivers we paddle vary in grade - all we ask is that you let us know of any previous white water rafting experience beforehand in order for us to tailor your trip. The rivers we paddle include:
River Tay
River Tummel
Vital Information
Minimum age is 12, maximum chest girth 60'', and you must be a confident swimmer. For safety reasons the centre reserves the right to test your fitness. Please advise us in advance of any disabilities.
We will advise you to contact the centre a few days before your booked date, if appropriate, to double-check water levels.
You may be expected to jump from the raft into still practice waters as part of your initial training session.
The Weather
Rafting operates in most conditions but may be affected by extreme weather conditions or flooding.
Session Length
A normal raft trip lasts half a day. On your arrival you will be issued with ALL the necessary specialist equipment. You will then be taken to the put in point and given a full safety brief before your river trip begins. Once you've survived the rapids we take you back to our centre where you will de-kit and no doubt pop over to one of the welcoming hostelries for a drink and recount your tales of the day.
Numbers
Your raft holds seven people plus a qualified instructor.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome to view from the riverside.
What To Wear
You will need a swimming costume, a towel, a long sleeved sweatshirt or jumper (that will get wet) and a sense of humour. We'll provide you with a wetsuit, wetsuit boots, cagoule, buoyancy aid, and helmet.
