The Experience
This Boston wine tasting tour takes you to the South End to Boston's "Restaurant Row".
You will explore the wines of France, Argentina and Italy and sample modern American and French cuisine. A wealth of knowledge about wine tasting and making will be shared by the wine ambassadors.
The venues you will visit during the tour are Gaslight Brasserie du Coin and Cinquecento Roman Trattoria or Masa Restaurant. You will enjoy six wines and at least three food pairings over the course of two hours.
Gaslight Brasserie du Coin
You will be seated around a Parisian zinc bar, given a tasting plate of classic French cuisine, and poured a couple glasses from their all-French wine list.
A sample pairing that can be enjoyed here is Vignerons Buxy, Bourgogne Blanc or Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France served with Steak Tartare with Croutons and Aioli and Heritage Tomatoes with Spice Provence.
Cinquecento Roman Trattoria or Masa Restaurant
Cinquecento: At 500 Harrison Ave. Enjoy a sampling of salumi and formaggio with two wines from the all-Italian wine list, meant to reflect Roman roots, custom, and simplicity. A leisurely stroll past the bow-fronted, Charles Bulfinch-designed Victorian townhouses, brings you to Tremont Street, the heart of the neighborhood’s art scene, nightspots, and our final destination.
Masa: Here, Southwest meets the South End. For over a decade Masa has been spicing up the palates of Boston’s most sophisticated diners and serving up libations to the hip bar crowds from the South End, Back Bay, and Theater District. Masa’s menu pairs a carefully selected wine list with the flavors and cooking styles of a Southwestern kitchen.
