You are going to spend the day as part of the crew sailing a magnificent 60 metre tall ship. During this Tall Ship Sailing experience in Hampshire, you will take part in hoisting the complex square-rigged sails (the mast is 45m tall!), helming the ship, hauling the ropes and even attempting the up and over.
For those who would rather sit back and take in the view there is plenty of room on deck. You can stand back and enjoy the sailing, be lookout on the bridge or even climb out onto the bowsprit for a closer look at the action. Your expert crew will make sure your day runs smoothly and will be on hand to answer any questions about the fascinating ship.
Food is provided on the day. Enjoy a light breakfast in the mess in the morning, as well as lunch and afternoon tea being served throughout the day.
No previous sailing experience is required and non-swimmers are welcome. It is not suitable if you are pregnant, suffer from neck or back problems or are aged under 16 or over 80. Those aged under 18 are required to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The price shown includes insurance cover, but a supplement may be required. Details of this insurance will be given to you upon booking.
A medical declaration is required as this is used to fill in your insurance application form.
Tall Ship Sailing may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions which could make it dangerous. You should call the location the day before for a weather check.
Please allow a full day to enjoy this experience.
Spectators are welcome to watch and wave from the quayside as you depart for your adventure, unfortunately they cannot join you on the boat. You should purchase additional vouchers for them to enjoy the day with you.
Please remember it is often colder out on the water than it is on land so you are advised to wear loose fitting casual clothes and bring extra layers. Dress appropriately for the weather on the day and bring the correct shoes - walking boots or shoes with ankle support and hard soles are ideal on the Tall Ship and soft-soled shoes (trainers are ideal) for the Challenger Yachts. Wet weather gear is provided on board if needed along with all safety equipment.
This experience is available on very selected dates which can be checked by contacting us. If these dates are not suitable, your voucher can be exchanged. For this experience, we also offer Challenger Yacht dates. You should confirm which dates are for which type of sailing prior to confirming your booking with us. As this is a very popular experience, you will need to book at least eight weeks in advance.
