Highlights of Grand Taste of the Highlands:

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Edinburgh:

Board the Belmond Royal Scotsman luxury train at Edinburgh Waverley Station in the early afternoon as you head west to Craigendoran. Enjoy an afternoon tea as you marvel at the peaks of the highlands gliding past your window. Leisure time aboard the train is the ideal opportunity to settle into your luxurious cabin and converse with fellow passengers, before the train stables in the village of Spean Bridge for the night and you enjoy an indulgent informal dinner.

Day 2 – Fort William:

Take in the views of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, before you disembark in Arisaig for a gentle stroll across the white beaches of Morar Sands. Return to the train for lunch as our Highlander joins the group to take you to Glenfinnan Monument and explain the history of the area before an indulgent cream tea at Inverlochy Castle. Alternatively, guests can choose to bike to Steall Waterfall. Return to the Royal Scotsman for dinner followed by musical entertainment.

Day 3 – Mount Stuart:

We head towards the Isle of Bute, an island rich in history and wildlife with a beautiful landscape to explore. Enjoy a visit to stunning Victorian Gothic house Mount Stuart with a fine privately held collection of family portraits. The day concludes with a formal dinner on board the Royal Scotsman.

Day 4 – Edinburgh:

Marvel at the ever-changing landscape as we head back to Edinburgh. A brief pause allows you to explore the city, the Royal Mile, the Castle or simply lose yourself in an art gallery or relax with a coffee. Rejoining the Royal Scotsman early afternoon, we continue our journey over the incredible Forth Railway Bridge to the Fair city of Perth before returning to Fort William. Leisure time on board is ideal for relaxing before an informal dinner.
