The experience
The day starts at the Ruka Adventures safari headquarters where you'll get kitted out with rain gear, wellies, life jackets and helmets. Next, you'll be transported to the location of the experience in a car. At the location, the seasoned guide will give safety instructions and a brief training in rafting, after which you'll warm up with a descent down the Käylänkoski rapid. Afterwards, you'll get to enjoy the beautiful lake views for a while and talk about your first experience. There are seven rapids in total on the route, ranging from easy to moderate, Harjakoski being the most demanding. All along the way, you'll be taking in the breathtaking views of the Lappish nature with all its fauna and flora, with luck witness some magnificient catches of the day and enjoy the magic of the Nightless Night! A car will be waiting for you at your final destination of Juuma, ready to take you back to Ruka.
Vital Information
All participants must be over 5 years of age.
Note that due to popularity of this experience, the dates need to be booked at least four weeks in advance.

In case of heavy rain or storm the experience will not take place.

What To Wear
Light outdoor wear. You will get wet so dress accordingly. Rain gear, life jackets, wellies and helmets will be provided.
